GRAY Robert Coote (Robin) Corbridge. Died peacefully aged 90 on Sunday 21st April 2024 after a short illness. Beloved husband of Mary, father of Martin, Tom and Andrew, grandfather and great-grandfather. Thanksgiving Service at St Andrew's Church Corbridge at 2 pm on Thursday 9th May. No flowers please; donations will be shared between St Andrew's Church and Clwyd Special Riding Centre. (www.clwydspecialridingcentre.co.uk)

I was an exact contemporary and friend of Robin's in Hoppers and I am very sad to hear of his death. Although our paths have not crossed since 1952 I remember him so well and how he grew from strength to strength during his time at school. His rowing was outstanding and he became Head of Rowing and of the School. Surprisingly at school he was always known by his elder brother's nickname of 'Sarge'-- - SAR Gray, who was in fact 7 years older.
I played cricket rather than being in Boat Club so we saw less of each other at the end of our time but I have clear memories of a strong and caring character.
My condolences to all the family - especially Hopperite grandsons-
A life well lived i can see.
