A MAN died after suffering a 'medical episode' near Haydon Bridge on Saturday.
Police received a report that a male cyclist was in need of medical assistance on the A686 junction with the A69 near Haydon Bridge just after midday on October 5.
A spokeswoman from Northumbria Police said: "It was initially reported that the cyclist may have been hit by a car, however, it was quickly established this was not the case and he had suffered a medical episode."
A temporary diversion was put in place whilst emergency services attended. The Great North Air Ambulance Service attended the scene and the cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
