Police have confirmed the family of a man who died in a Northumberland National Park has been informed.
Emergency services, including air ambulance, mountain rescue and police, were alerted to the concerns about a man's welfare near Steel Rigg car park in Henshaw.
After their arrival and several checks, it was suspected the man suffered from a medical episode and was confirmed to be deceased at the scene.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: "Shortly after midday on Monday, officers received a report of concern for the welfare of a man near the Steel Rigg car park in Northumberland.
"Emergency services attended and found a man who had suffered a suspected medical episode. Sadly, the man was confirmed to be deceased at the scene.
"The man's next of kin are aware, and a report will be made for the coroner."
