The Escapologist, a company providing immersive escape room experiences, has announced its imminent opening in Metrocentre.

The business is set to open its doors this summer.

CEO Ellie McClaren said: "We are thrilled to bring The Escapologist to Metrocentre and introduce our unique escape rooms and cocktails to the vibrant community of Newcastle and the North East.

"Our goal is to transport our guests to a world where imagination knows no bounds, and every visit is an unforgettable adventure."

Steeped in a unique steampunk aesthetic that merges Victorian elegance with industrial innovation, the new venue will offer five themed escape rooms.

COO Olly McClaren said: "We've given each room its own narrative and set of challenges to create an environment where, from the moment guests step through our doors they'll be immersed in a world where gears turn, mysteries unfold, and adventure awaits."

Visitors can relish in handcrafted cocktails at the on-site bar after tackling the escape rooms.

Group operations manager, Cam Ratcliffe, said that their cocktail menu is a "fusion of classic recipes and innovative smoking creations that are sure to make an impression."

Gavin Prior, the Metrocentre centre director, welcomed The Escapologist, describing it as "a welcome addition to the centre, further strengthening the leisure offer and providing something different for our visitors."

Mr Prior said: "With an ever-growing line-up of best-in-class retail and leisure brands, Metrocentre is continuing to evolve and provide even more reasons to visit.”
