THE sale of a Hexham building won't affect at least one of the shops that calls it home, it's been confirmed.
The freehold of the building containing Waterstones and Holland & Barrett on Fore Street in Hexham is listed as being for sale on Rightmove - leaving many to question if this will affect the stores in the sale.
But Waterstones confirmed it will not be leaving the high street.
A Waterstones spokesperson said: "I am happy to confirm that our Hexham bookshop will stay at its current location.
"A sale will not affect our occupation of the shop."
On the website, Rightmove describes the property as a mid-terraced, three storey unit of brick and stone wall construction under a pitched slate roof.
It also states that both units have sales and retail provision at ground floor level and ancillary accommodation above including offices, staff WC and kitchen.
The guide price is £550,000.
Hollands & Barrett were contacted for comment but did not reply.
