Newcastle is set to welcome the Galeón Andalucía, a replica of a historic Spanish galleon.
Docked at Spiller's Quay from today (June 25) to July 7, this attraction will be open to the public for exploration and education.
The Galeón Andalucía, a 55-meter ship made of iroko and pine wood, gives a detailed insight into life on the seas during the 16th to 18th century.
During its stay, visitors can explore all five decks and learn of the ship's details, how it sails, and what life was like on board the ship.
From Shanghai to New York, this floating museum has clocked more than 55,000 nautical miles, having visited ports in four continents.
The Newcastle stopover forms part of the vessel's grand 2024 tour, visiting various European ports, taking part in key festivals, and showcasing Spanish maritime heritage.
To experience a slice of history, the public can book tickets at tickets.velacuadra.es while schools can email ecampos@velacuadra.es.
