Around 60 per cent of Northumberland residents are fully vaccinated against Coronavirus.
Recent figures released show that three in five people in Northumberland have received both of their jabs, with one village in the area having the highest coverage in the county.
97.8 per cent of residents living in Capheaton have had at least one dose of a Coronavirus vaccine, well above the county average of 83 per cent.
According to NHS data, 159,685 people in the county had received both jabs by June 6, 59% of those aged 16 and over based on the latest population estimates from the Office for National Statistics.
There are also 6,993 people in the county between the ages of 16 and 29 who have received both doses.
Despite the success of the vaccine rollout, 12 per cent of staff in Northumberland’s care homes have not had a jab.
The Government is currently in consultation over plans to make the vaccine mandatory or staff amid concern for residents.
