Winter Wonderland

The worst winter weather for 30 years has brought widespread chaos across Tynedale. Scores of schools have been closed, giving an extended New Year holiday for youngsters. While the Big Freeze has left treacherous conditions on the roads, for many youngsters it has been their first experience of deep and lasting snow.

Amazing pictures of the familiar countryside covered in snow - we left the area 20 years ago for Canada where we experience winters like this every year. Seems this year you have suffered the snow while we are having a mild winter.
