Marriage

Gavin Luke Wilkinson – Alison Jayne Hall

FORMER Haydon Bridge High School students Gavin Luke Wilkinson and Alison Jayne Hall were married at St Mungo’s Church in Simonburn.
The bridegroom is the son of Gordon and Susan Wilkinson, of High Warden, and works as an architectural technologist.
The bride is the daughter of William and Lesley Hall, of Haltwhistle, and is a town planner with Northumberland County Council.
Given away by her father, the bride wore an ivory halter-neck fitted gown with a puddle train, detailed with pearls and crystals.
A simple veil was complemented by a hand-made crystal and pearl head piece.
She carried a spring bouquet of white tulips and blue hyacinths.
Maid of honour was the bride’s friend Louise Thompson, and the bridesmaids were her friend, Hannah Nelson, and the bridegroom’s twin sister, Lucy Wilkinson.
They wore fitted halter-neck knee length silk dresses in navy and teal, and carried hand-tied white tulip bouquets finished in pearl for the day, and crystal and pearl handbags for the evening.
The flowergirl was Ruby Watson, the little sister of one of three best men, Daniel Burden.
As the bridegroom could not chose between his three close friends, also acting as best man was Chris White and James Norman.
The bride’s brother, Craig Hall, and friend Ross Cruden were ushers.
A reception was held at the Winter Gardens at Queen Elizabeth High School in Hexham, which was decorated by the couple and their family and friends, with a stunning piece of artwork created by the groom’s twin sister displayed in the room.
The Rev. Michael Thompson led the ceremony and the bride entered the church to Wagner’s Bridal March.
Hymns included Morning Has Broken, All Things Bright and Beautiful, and One More Step Along the World I Go.
The bride and groom left the church to Purcell’s Trumpet Tune.
The couple spent their honeymoon in Cyprus.
