DART - BEATTIE

A SUN-DRENCHED gazebo in Mexico was the setting for the wedding of Hexham couple Sean Dart and Claire Beattie.
The couple. who first met at a gym, tied the knot on May 11 at the Tulum Resort, in Riviera Maya, Mexico.
The bridegroom is the son of Michael Dart and Patricia Reay, both of Hexham.
He attended Newcastle College and is a self-employed roofer.
The bride is the daughter of Paul and Ruth Beattie, of Hexham.
She is a graduate of Northumbria University and is a staff nurse at the RVI in Newcastle.
Given away by her father, she wore a strapless, full-length ivory gown, featuring a bow at the waist and crystal button trimming in the back. She carried a bouquet of calla lilies.
A diamante and pearl comb headpiece and medium length, single tier veil with diamante crystals completed the look.
Bridesmaids were the bride’s sister, Jennie Beattie, and bridegroom’s sisters, Hayley Dart and Sophie Bewick.
They wore full-length, strapless aubergine chiffon dresses, with rose detail, and carried bouquets of calla lilies.
The best man was the bridegroom’s friend Scott Pearson. The bride’s brother, Jack Beattie, and bridegroom’s friend, Phillip Turner, acted as ushers.
Witnesses at the ceremony, conducted by Lic. Juan Carlos Nieto Mejia, were Scott Pearson, Philip Turner, and friends of the couple, Dennis Cowens and Laura McGreal.
The bride walked down the aisle to Adele’s Make You Feel My Love, and the bridesmaids to The Power of Love by Jennifer Rush.
James Morrison’s I Won’t Let You Go and Alicia Keys’ No One were played during the signing of the papers, and couple left to Marry You by Bruno Mars.
A special token of a horseshoe for good luck from the bride’s grandmother was delivered to the couple by bride’s aunt for the day of the wedding.
Following the wedding, a reception was held at the Dolce Vita restaurant, in Akumal, with a private pool party.
The couple enjoyed a honeymoon in Mexico and a celebration was held at Hexham Racecourse following their return home.
