Marriage

Henry Kit Wardell – Zoe Victoria Walker

HEXHAM’S Queen's Hall was the venue for the wedding of former Haydon Bridge High School students, Henry Kit Wardell and Zoe Victoria Walker.
The bridegroom is the son of Daryl Wardell and Patsy Rodwell, and step son of Martin Rodwell, of Cromer, Norfolk.
He studied at Bangor University and enjoys climbing and music, as a member of a band.
The bride is the daughter of Stuart and Janice Walker, of Allenheads. She studied at the University of East Anglia and also enjoys climbing and travelling in her spare time.
For her wedding she wore a long, sleeveless A-line dress in two tone blue/green silk with silver embroidery.
The dress had been made by her mother using fabric bought in Singapore and was complemented by a bouquet of white calla lilies. She also wore white hydrangeas in her hair and her favourite green Converse trainers.
Bridesmaids were the bridegroom’s sister, Molly Rodwell, who wore a long, dark blue linen gown, and the bride’s cousins, Georgia Cairns and Rachael Lanaghan, who wore long A-line white silk dresses.
They all carried posies of white hydrangeas.
Best man was the bridegroom’s friend, Tom O’Donoghue, from Norfolk, and the bride’s brothers Adam and Liam Walker were ushers.
The bride was given away by her father, Stuart Walker, and piped into the venue by Northumbrian piper, Katy Cook.
The reception was held at Vercelli’s restaurant in Hexham, followed by an evening ceilidh at Allendale Village Hall.
The couple, who live in Norwich, arrived at the evening celebrations in a horse-drawn carriage driven by the bride's friend, Georgina Welton and pulled by her horse, Plough.
Flowers for the occasion were arranged by the bride’s aunt, Andrea Lanaghan, while her cousin, Michelle Soppitt, made the cake, and her aunt, Marion Cairns decorated the venues. The bride's friend Christine Holliday organised the evening buffet.
The newlyweds stayed overnight at Nent Hall Country House, Alston, before honeymooning in Cornwall.
