MATHEW STEPHENS - LOUISE KEENAN

A HONEYMOON on the romantic island of Bali followed the wedding of forensics officer Mathew Joseph Stephens and school teacher Louise Maria Keenan.
The bridegroom, the son of Pamela and Gerald Stephens, of Hackwood Park, Hexham, attended Hexham Queen Elizabeth High School, before studying biology at Durham University.
He then took his masters degree in forensics at Glasgow University, and is now a forensics officer with LGC.
The bride, the daughter of Bernard and Suzzanne Keenan, of Hale, Cheshire, is a former pupil of Loreto Convent School in Manchester.
She continued her studies at Liverpool University, and is now head of religious education and ethics at Wellington School in Cheshire.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a fairytale white gown with a scooped strapless diamond encrusted bodice, and an A-line skirt decorated with crystals and diamantes.
The chief bridesmaid was Phillippa Baron and the bridesmaids were the bride’s sister, Emily Keenan, and the bridegroom’s sister, Elizabeth Stephens.
The best man was the bridegroom’s friend Richard Haigh, and the groomsmen were more friends, Stuart Rennie, Robert Thompson and Robert Matthew Wager.
The ceremony took place at St Mary’s Church at Nether Alderley in Cheshire, and was conducted by the Rev. David Harrison.
The bride arrived at the church to a soloist singing Panis Angelicus, and there was also a solo rendition of Ave Maria during the signing of the register.
The bride’s eldest brother, James Keenan, read a passage from Corinthians and the bridegroom’s mother read The Art of a Good Marriage by Wilferd Peterson.
The service also included the hymns Living Lord, Jerusalem and One More Step along the World I Go.
The reception was held at Mottram St Andrews village hall.
