Stephen Charles Jackson – Sarah Atkinson

FORMER Haydon Bridge High School pupil Sarah Atkinson married Stephen Charles Jackson, at Crichton Memorial Church, in Dumfries, Scotland.
The bride, formerly of Haltwhistle, is the daughter of Nigel Atkinson, of Haltwhistle and Louise Steele, of Canonbie, Scotland.
After attending Haydon Bridge High and Langholm Academy she studied at the University of Cumbria, and is now a teacher at Lynch Hill Primary, in Slough.
The bridegroom is the son of Darren Jackson, of Wigton, Cumbria and Jeanette Jackson, of Canonbie.
He also attended Langholm Academy and now serves in the Corps of Royal Engineers.
Given away by her father, the bride wore a strapless gown with a crystal decorated bodice and a cathedral-length train. Her tiara held a waist-length veil edged with crystals and tiny pearls in place.
She carried a traditional style bouquet of blue Singapore orchids and ivory roses.
The bridegroom’s sister Rebecca Jackson and his cousin Shona Crook were bridesmaids. They wore aqua blue chiffon dresses with contrasting satin sashes and carried posy style bouquets of Singapore orchids and ivory roses.
Aaron Jackson, the bridegroom’s brother, was best man, while his other brother Ryan Jackson and the bride’s brother, Scott Atkinson, were ushers.
For the ceremony the bridegroom wore his Army dress uniform and the bride was piped into the church to sounds of Highland Cathedral.
Readings were given by Ryan Jackson and the bride's stepfather Ian Steele and the church was decorated with blue Singapore orchids, lilies, and ivory roses.
The wedding reception was held at Easterbrook Hall, in Dumfries, and the couple honeymooned in Edinburgh.
