NEWCASTLE Civic Centre was the wedding venue for Melanie Jane Bell and Marc Raymond St Clair Leppan.
The bride is a former Prudhoe High School pupil, and is the daughter of Judith Baxter, of Corbridge, and Alan Bell, of Newcastle. She is a trainee nursery nurse, and enjoys reading, painting and cooking.
The bridegroom is the son of Paul and Jacki Leppan, of Newcastle. A communications advisor, he enjoys playing rugby, cricket and darts.
The bride, who was given away by her father, wore an ivory strapless chiffon dress with a fish-tail train, an ivory veil with crystals and pearls, and her mother’s crystal tiara.
She held a bouquet of ivory and purple silk roses.
Stefanie Bell, the bride’s sister, was maid of honour. She wore a purple chiffon dress with a cream sash.
The bride’s nieces, Rebecca Bell and Laura Champion, were bridesmaids, as were the bridegroom’s daughters, Elisha and Natasha Leppan.
They wore dresses of ivory chiffon and tulle, with a purple sash and butterfly, and carried ivory and purple wands.
Effy Baxter, the bride’s niece, was a flower girl, and carried a teddy bear with a purple neck ribbon.
Best man was Michael Leppan, the bridegroom’s brother.
The bridegroom’s sons Tyler and Hayden Leppan, were ushers, as were the bride’s sons, Anthony and James Bell.
David Leppan, the bride and bridegroom’s baby son, was page boy.
A reception took place at the civic centre’s banqueting hall, and the couple will enjoy a honeymoon next year.
