Marriage

Simon Edward Jewitt - Kathryn Lucy Ellis

BELMOUNT Hall in the Lake District provided the picturesque setting, in glorious sunshine, for the wedding of Riding Mill couple Simon Edward Jewitt and Kathryn Lucy Ellis.
The bridegroom is the son of Peter and Susan Jewitt, of St Mary’s House, Stamfordham.
He attended Dame Allan’s School in Newcastle, before going on to study at Dundee University and Northumbria University, and now works as a solicitor in Hexham.
The bride is the daughter of Christopher Ellis, of Stanwix, Carlisle, and Helen Lachucik, of Etterby, Carlisle.
She attended Queen Elizabeth Grammar School in Penrith, and now works as a corporate recovery administrator in Gosforth.
Given away by her father, she wore a full length ivory lace fishtail dress with plain satin ivory belt.
Her wildflower bouquet included sweet peas, nigella, herbs and fresh flowering lavender.
Acting as bridesmaids were the bride’s friends Jessica Haigh and Kerry Harrison. They wore aubergine dresses and carried bouquets that matched the bride’s.
Best man was the bridegroom’s friend, John Irving.
Deputy Superintendent Registrar Paul Coward conducted the ceremony at Belmount Hall, which was decorated in fresh lavender, herb plants, campanula and pots of nigella and sweet peas.
The bride walked down the aisle to Burt Bacharach’s This Guy’s in Love With You.
A honeymoon in Paris and Provence followed for the couple.
