Marriage

Liam Clegg-Rachel Davies

There was a garden gnome theme to the wedding of university lecturers Liam Clegg and Rachel Davies at York Register Office. The colourful ornaments were used to denote the table plan for the reception at the Folk Hall at New Earswick.
The bridegroom, a former pupil of Hexham Queen Elizabeth High School, is the son of David and Mary Clegg, of Hexham.
He lectures in politics at the University of York.
The bride, the daughter of John and Lindley Davies, of Luton, attended Dame Alice Harpur School and Birmingham University.
She is an associate lecturer at Newcastle University, as well as being a musician.
She wore a two-tone cream and raspberry empire line dress with a small train, with a copper coronet of wheat, lavender and roses.
Wheat, lavender and red and white roses also featured in her bouquet.
Music at the ceremony was provided by the Stella Maris Ensemble.
Following the reception and ceilidh, the couple spent their honeymoon at Gordale Scar in West Yorkshire.
