WILLEY - CANNINGS Graham Alan - Stefanie

BRIDEGROOM Graham Alan Willey was driven to church in a tractor for his wedding to Stefanie Cannings.
And his bride arrived at St John’s Church, at Greenside, in a dray pulled by a Clydesdale horse.
The bridegroom is the son of Alan and Marilyn Willey, of Broomfield Farm, Chopwell. A dairy farmer on the family farm, he was educated at Hookergate Comprehensive and Kirkley Hall College.
The bride is the daughter of Celia and Peter Cannings, of Greenside. A former pupil of Ryton Comprehensive, she went on to study at the University of Sunderland and was the manager of Farmway Trading in Hexham for nine years. She is now an account executive at Cox Agri in County Durham.
Given away by her father, she wore an ivory A-line chiffon dress with a chapel train and beaded embroidery.
Her bouquet comprised sweet akito roses, navy germini, purple lisianthus, limonium, and China and fountain grass.
She was attended by her maid of honour and best friend Rachel Phazey and three bridesmaids: the couple’s daughter Sarah Willey and the bridegroom’s nieces Katie and Jessica Willey.
The maid of honour wore a full-length burgundy dress, while the younger bridesmaids wore ivory dresses with burgundy sashes. They carried mini versions of the bride’s bouquet.
Best man was the bridegroom’s best friend Thomas Delafield and ushers were the bridegroom’s brother Darren Willey and the bride’s brother Ben Cannings.
Page boys were the couple’s son Harry Willey and the bridegroom’s nephew Sam Willey.
The ceremony was conducted by the Rev Clive Devonish and hymns and music included All thing bright and beautiful and Lord of all hopefulness, accompanied by organist Kathryn Fredrikson.
The church was decorated in a burgundy, purple and green theme incorporating wheat by Gloria Johnston.
The reception was held in a marquee on the bridegroom’s family’s farm and the guests were entertained by the Sunshine Panners and a live band. There was also a bucking bronco ride, bouncy castle and hog roast.
The couple spent their honeymoon in Keswick.
