FORSYTH - DICKINSON Keith - Ailsa
KEITH FORSYTH - AILSA DICKINSON
MEMBERS of the Zwartbles Sheep Association formed a guard of honour with shepherds’ crooks at the wedding of local farmers Keith Forsyth and Ailsa Dickinson.
The bride is the daughter of Eddie and Christine Dickinson, of Kirkwhelpington.
Her favourite sheep, Tiffen, joined the couple for photographs after the wedding ceremony at St Bartholomew’s Church in Kirkwhelpington.
The bridegroom, a former pupil at Hirst High School in Ashington, is the son of Ian and Winifred Forsyth, of Ashington, and works as a freelance farm worker.
The bride, who was given away by her father, was educated at Ponteland High School before going on to study childcare at Newcastle College.
She works on the family farm and also as a part-time pre-school leader, and enjoys showing her pedigree Zwartble sheep at agricultural shows and working her collie dog.
The bride wore a full length, heavy ivory satin dress trimmed with pearls, with an embroidered jacket with a high frilled collar. She wore a short ivory veil, which her mother had worn at her wedding, held in place with a pearl slide head piece.
She carried a hand-tied bouquet containing cream roses, carnations, wheat and harvest berries.
Children she had cared for while working as a nanny were heavily involved in the wedding ceremony, with Isabella Redmanye (13), Chloe Cormack (8) and Lauren Williams (8) all acting as bridesmaids.
They wore full length, burnt orange, satin dresses, with cowl necklines and bolero jackets.
Isabella carried a smaller version of the bride’s bouquet, while the other bridesmaids carried pomanders of cream carnations and autumn berries.
Will and Hugh Redmayne, and Alex Williams, all 11 years old, were ushers.
A friend of the bridegroom, Stephen Trobe, was the best man, while the bride’s cousin Claire Miskin and bridegroom’s friend Jonathan Reed were witnesses.
The church was decorated with cream roses, autumn berries and orange daisies and the windows contained fruit and vegetables to fit the harvest theme.
Church organist Ann Purvis played during the ceremony, which included the hymns We Plough the Fields and Scatter, Lead Us Heavenly Father, Lead Us and Give me Joy in my Heart. The bride’s cousin Victoria Lowery gave a reading.
A wedding reception including live music was held at Tynedale Function Suite in Hexham.
