FOX- GRAHAM

John Fox – Helen Graham
A HEXHAMSHIRE woman returned to her farming roots on her wedding day.
Helen Graham was driven to St Helen’s Church, Whitley Chapel, for her wedding to John Fox by her father in his farm pick-up truck.
The truck had been specially decorated for the occasion and contained a lucky horseshoe, sent from Tasmania by a close friend.
The bride also carried two lucky tokens, presented by friends Zakk and Will Storey and Sheila Hall.
The bride, a retired police officer, is the daughter of John and Nancy Graham, previously of High Raw Green, Hexhamshire, and now of Hexham.
The bridegroom is the son of Maureen Fox, of Consett, and the late Joe Fox. A retired teacher, he is a keen cyclist and classic car restorer.
Given away by her father, the bride wore an ivory dress decorated with pearls and crystals, matching headdress and specially designed jewellery. She carried a bouquet of yellow rose.
Bridesmaids were the bride’s sister, Anthea Adamson, and the bridegroom’s daughter, Sarah Fitch.
They wore long, navy blue dresses, with ivory shrugs and specially designed jewellery. They carried bouquets of yellow and ivory roses.
Sharing the duties of best man were the bridegroom’s twin sons Christopher and Andrew Fox, and the ushers were the bride’s nephews Graham and Philip Adamson.
For the service the church was decorated with displays of daffodils in milk churns and other farming utensils by the bride’s friends Gayle Tailford and Yvonne Hall.
The ceremony was conducted by the Rev, Andrew Patterson and music and hymns included You raise me up , Love changes everything, Be though my vision, Brother, sister, let me serve you and How great thou art, accompanied by organist Shirley Nixon.
The reception took place at Wheelbirks Parlour, near Stocksfield, which was chosen to celebrate the bride’s farming background and the bridegroom’s love of ice cream.
After spending time with friends who had travelled from Canada for the wedding, the couple honeymooned in Cyprus.
