Marriage

Chris Turner - Tracy Anderson

Conventional wedding cars went out of the window when Forestry Commission harvesting administrator Tracy Anderson married timber haulier Christopher Turner at St Cuthbert’s Church in Bellingham. For instead of a limousine, the happy couple chose a gaily decorated timber wagon to carry them from the church to the reception.
The bridegroom, who is the son of Alison Bird and David Turner, both of Corbridge, attended Hexham Queen Elizabeth High School and drives for R. and H. Scott, of Wark. The bride, the daughter of Colin and Michelle Anderson, of Dunterley Farm, Bellingham, studied at Haydon Bridge High School, and enjoys horse racing, point to pointing and hunting in her spare time.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride’s dress featured an intricate lace and jewel embellishment over a rich dolce satin underlay, with lace trimmed shoulder straps and a keyhole back. Her single layer veil was secured by a small, delicate tiara, and she carried a hand-tied bouquet of cream and pink roses with lisianthus and waxflower.
She was supported by nine attendants – seven bridesmaids and two flowergirls. The bridesmaids were the bride’s sister Lucy Anderson, the bridegroom’s sister Helen Turner, and Rebecca Smith, Rebecca Lawson, Laura Jones, Patricia Marr and Jenny Walton. They all wore full length chiffon gowns in sage green with sweetheart necklines, ruffled straps and deep plunging backs with long chiffon sashes, and carried smaller versions of the bride’s bouquet. The flowergirls were the bride’s cousins Anna Hindmarsh and Erin Savage, who wore A-line square necked floor length chiffon gowns with spaghetti straps, also in sage green.
The best man was Andrew Wilson, the bridegroom’s friend since first school, and the groomsmen were Peter Dickinson and Lee Carrol.

The service. which was conducted by Rector of Bellingham the Rev. Susan Ramsaran, included the hymns All Things Bright and Beautiful, How Great Thou Art and One More Step Along The World I Go, accompanied at the organ by John Roper. The bride entered the church – which was decorated by the bride’s step-granny Katrine Anderson and Anne Bell in a pale pink and sage green theme – to Pachelbel’s Canon in D. Readings were given by friends Nikki Gilbertson and Laura Lewins. The reception was held at the bride’s family home at Dunterley, starting with Pimms and canapes in the farmhouse garden, before moving to a marquee for the wedding breakfast. The couple are spending their honeymoon in Egypt.
