Daniel John Herdman - Kayleigh Anne Scott
Former Hexham Queen Elizabeth High School pupils Daniel John Herdman and Kayleigh Anne Scott were flying high on their wedding day.
For a helicopter took the newlyweds from St Helen’s Church in Whitley Chapel to the wedding reception venue.
The bridegroom is the son of Michael and Denise Herdman, of Acton Farm, in Blanchland.
He works on the family farm, and enjoys playing rugby and golf in his spare time.
The bride is the daughter of Philip and Fiona Scott, of Westburnhope Farm, in Hexhamshire.
After high school, she went on to study at the University of Birmingham as is now works as a technical coordinator, and is a member of the young farmers’ club.
Given away by her father, the bride wore a pale pink dress and carried a bouquet of cream roses, sweet peas and jasmine.
Her sister Amy Riley and the bridegroom’s cousins Sophie and Ruby Hindmarsh were bridesmaids. Amy wore a pale pink dress, while the two younger girls wore ivory three-quarter-length dresses.
The bridegroom’s best friend Stephen Lumley was best man, while the bride’s cousin Stuart Golightly and the couple’s friends John Lumley, Joe Forster and Craig Nesbitt were ushers.
The Rev. Andrew Patterson led the service in the church decorated in a pink and ivory theme by Yvonne Hall and Gayle Tailford. Hymns included One More Step and I Vow to Thee My Country, accompanied on the organ by Shirley Nixon.
The couple left the church to How Long Will I Love You?, sung by their friend Katie Lumley.
A helicopter flew them from St Helen’s to the reception, held in a marquee on Acton Farm.
The couple honeymooned in Croatia and Austria
