JARDINE - HAWKINS

Steven Jardine - Michelle Hawkins
ST Peter’s Church in Newbrough was the venue for the wedding of villagers Michelle Hawkins and Steven Jardine, who were married in a service conducted by the Rev. Jeremy Thompson.
The daughter of Jean Reed of Sidgate, Newbrough, the bride studied at Haydon Bridge High School and works as a sales assistant.
She wore an ivory dress with chiffon layers and a crystal embroidered waistband. Completing her outfit was a veil decorated with Swarovski crystals, held in place by a crystal hair piece.
She carried a bouquet featuring eskimo roses, snowflake spray roses and cream and white sweet peas.
Nikki Collier, the bride’s cousin’s 12-year-old daughter, was bridesmaid and wore a red and cream gown. She carried a bouquet which mirrored the bride’s.
The bridegroom is the son of John Jardine of the Chantry Estate, Corbridge, and the late Sue Jardine. A former Queen Elizabeth High School student, he now works as a postman.
The bridegroom’s best friend, Martin Geddes, was best man, while his father acted as an usher alongside the bride’s 14-year-old son Aaron Hawkins. Scott Hawkins (10), the bride’s other son, was page boy.
The bride was given away by her uncle Ralph Telfer and the hymns Morning Has Broken and One More Step Along The World I Go were included in the ceremony.
The church was decorated by Caro Dickinson.
The couple celebrated with family and friends during a reception at Tynedale Function Suite and spent their honeymoon in Portugal.
