Marc Dixon – Suzanne Jane Swaile
A WARK couple enjoyed a day full of musical moments when they married in their village in September.
Marc Dixon and Suzanne Jane Swaile were serenaded by a string quartet prior to the service at St Michael’s Church and during the signing of the register.
The bridegroom is the son of Chris and Jan Dixon, of Mossyard, New Abbey, in Dumfries.
He attended Queen Elizabeth High School in Hexham before going on to study computer science at Sunderland University.
He is the director and owner of The Computer Shop, in Hexham, and enjoys mountain biking and going to the cinema.
The bride is the daughter of Alan Swaile, of Penbryn, Falstone, and Alwena Swaile, of West Crescent, Gunnerton.
She attended Haydon Bridge High School and studied nursing at Northumbria University.
A community staff nurse at Hexham Primary Care Centre, she enjoys running, shopping, the cinema and reading.
Given away by her father, the bride wore an ivory chiffon dress with lace capped sleeves, and a cathedral length veil with a pearl and diamante tiara.
She carried a bouquet of pink and ivory roses created by her grandmother Jenny Swaile and the North Tyne Flower Club, which also decorated the church.
The bride’s sister Bethan Swaile was her bridesmaid and she wore a full-length, strapless, chiffon dress and carried a smaller version of the bride’s bouquet.
The best man was the couple’s best friend Matt Galley, and their friends Alex Wilkinson and Gordon Thompson were ushers.
At the service, which was conducted by the Rev. Susan Ramsaran, hymns included Morning Has Broken, All Things Bright and Beautiful and Give me Joy in my Heart, accompanied by organist John Roper.
The wedding cake was made by the bride’s grandmother, and decorated by the bride’s mother, while the bridegroom’s uncle, Nick Dixon, played the Northumbrian pipes on arrival to the reception at Langley Castle.
Following the ceremony, the couple enjoyed a honeymoon in Turkey.
