PHILBIN - BROOKE Chris & Kathryn

Chris Pilbin – Kathryn Brooke

WEDDING guests had front row seats as they watched a true love story unfold.

For former Hexham resident Kathryn Brooke married Chris Pilbin at the Tyneside Cinema in Newcastle.

Following the wedding service, an old fashioned double decker bus transported the guests on a tour of the city before arriving at the reception venue of Gateshead’s Old Town Hall.

The bride is the daughter of Alan and Anne Brooke, of Hexham. She went to Queen Elizabeth High School in Hexham and Sheffield Hallam University, and works as a fund-raiser for the Disasters Emergency Committee.

She now lives in London with her new husband, the son of Colin and Anne Pilbin, of Stockton-on-Tees.

The bridegroom studied at Stockton’s Our Lady and St Bede School before going on to Hull University, and is a solicitor.

The bride wore a ballerina style, satin dress in ivory with lace cap sleeves and a sash belt, and a matching satin and lace cap. She carried a bouquet of pink and cream roses plus a mix of wild flowers, thistle and lavender.

The bride’s sister Jennifer Pick, school friends Kate Wilson and Rebecca Lawson and goddaughter Connie Wilson were all bridesmaids. Kate wore a red, knee length dress, while the others wore pink and red floral, knee length dresses.

James Holden, a university friend of the bridegroom, was best man.

A honeymoon in Sri Lanka followed the wedding.
