AFTER become engaged at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, Timothy John Lewis and Rebecca Louise Williamson enjoyed a spring wedding in Tynedale.

AFTER become engaged at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, Timothy John Lewis and Rebecca Louise Williamson enjoyed a spring wedding in Tynedale.

The bridegroom, the son of Peter and Jennifer Lewis, of Brewood, Staffordshire, is a former student of Tetten Hall College and Loughborough University.

He now works as a contracts manager for IB Construction and enjoys cycling, photography and badminton.

The bride, the daughter of Andrew and Sara Williamson, of North East Farm Cottage, Great Whittington, studied at the University of Birmingham and lists cycling and cooking among her hobbies.

Acomb’s St John Lee Church was decked out with yellow roses, tulips and gypsophila for the wedding on April 25 which was conducted by the Rev. Jeremy Thompson.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory re-embroidered lace and washed silk organza gown with a full A-line skirt and veiled lace motifs and carried a bouquet of yellow roses, tulips and gypsophila.

She was accompanied by four bridesmaids, her best friends Hannah Mary Lewis and Mel Wheeler and her cousins, Elizabeth Brennan and Toni Brennan.

The bridesmaids also carried yellow roses and tulips, gypsophila and delphiniums and wore navy blue lace and silk gowns with full A-line skirts.

The bridegroom was aided by two lifelong friends as his best men, Matthew Brett and Mark Gadman, who had travelled from Sydney, Australia, to attend the wedding.

His ushers were also lifelong friends of his, Harpret Sandhu and Mark Osborne.

The bride travelled to the church in a cream and red restored Morris Minor convertible and entered to Pachelbel’s Canon in D.

Organist Paul Rudd led the congregation in hymns, Tell Out My Soul and Give Me Joy In My Heart.

A reception followed at Matfen Hall Hotel and the couple, who now live in Shropshire, honeymooned in Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
