BY the end of the year, Prudhoe heavy metal band Divine Crown will have released their debut EP.
That is what the four piece are working towards in the short term as they aim to get their stuff out and about to potential fans.
Planning on including six tracks, they are at the halfway mark with two singles ready and a further two just requiring the finishing touches.
If their opening two tracks are anything to go by, a hell-raising triumph of a record is on its way.
The quartet have already had a crack at recording single Blinded, but things didn’t quite go to plan and their lack of sound engineering knowledge resulted in a low quality production.
Conversely, the song’s content is of a high calibre and sure to be an instant hit!
Starting in an ‘angsty’ way typical to the genre, style changes throughout the track mix things up and adds to the intrigue of the dark, emotive lyrics.
When performing live, it’s Creating God for All To See, which has been receiving the lion share of the praise though.
It starts with an intense, instrumental build-up with all four band members getting to showcase their individual talents. And then comes the moment it’s all been leading to, a thumping crescendo of noise blasting the listener.
Only playing it at a high volume will do the track justice, and now the anticipation is heightened ahead of the full EP.
Guitarist Marcus Graham said: “We recorded Blinded but we didn‘t have enough time and didn‘t really know what we were doing, to be honest.
“We hadn’t any studio experience and we expected to be told what to do, so we weren‘t prepared and we aren’t happy with the recording.”
After a steep learning curve, though, the band are hopeful they can get things right when they are ready to pt their tracks to album.
Lyricist and vocalist Liam Carse added: “There’s a lot more to our songs than even we realise.
“I don’t think we could show people how to learn our songs, because our timings are a bit odd and that is where the progressive metal influence comes in!”
