WILLIS Alan Formerly of Humshaugh and Roses Bower Farm, Wark; latterly of Corbridge. Alan died very peacefully on Saturday 18th March 2023 in Hexham General Hospital, surrounded by his beloved children Geoff and Lynn - just as he had hoped would be the case when God called him. Alan, much loved husband of the late Lily, adored dad of Geoff and Lynn, much loved dad-in-law to Lorna and devoted grandad to Summer, May and Nell. A good friend and neighbour to many people throughout his wonderful life. Alan was ninety one and a half years old at time of his death. He was a true gentleman - his word was his bond - he was decent, generous and kind, a great story teller and entertainer and he never lost his cheerfulness and sense of humour; he will be so greatly missed by his family and friends. Funeral and reception are being held on Thursday 13th April 2023 to celebrate Alan's life, and all who knew and loved him are welcome to attend both. Church service starts at 11.30am and is being held at Saint Peter's Church, Humshaugh, Northumberland, and is immediately followed by a reception in the Humshaugh Village Hall, next door to the church. Family flowers preferred; a collection will be taken at the church for the Charlotte Straker Care Home Residents Activities Fund. Love is stronger than death.
