GILLANDERS Tom (Hexham) Peacefully in hospital on 24th of February, aged 78 years. Devoted husband to Edwina, beloved father to Charles and David. Tom was also a much loved brother, uncle, grandfather and friend to many. He will be sadly missed. A funeral service to take place on Wednesday 3rd of April at West Road Crematorium, Newcastle at 12:45 pm. Family flowers only, donations in lieu of flowers to Hexham Food Bank. Enquiries to Hexham Co-op Funeralcare.

Fond memories of a proper Irish gentleman. Tom guided many including myself through their TA careers and also many in their chosen profession. I remember Tom as a professional, calm in stressful situations and a natural leader. There are too many stories of TA service but for those who know then this is a sad loss but full of pride and humour at having served under and with him.
