LEEKS of all shapes and sizes were on show at the annual Bowes Hotel leek competition.
The Bardon Mill contest was won by regular competitor Kenneth Makepeace with his leeks measuring 156.73 cu ins. He also won best leek in show.
Paul and Mick Dodd finished second with leeks of 137.40 cu ins. The highest placed female was awarded to Nicola Charlton whose leeks measured at 156.29 cu ins.
The Ian Dodd Memorial Trophy, awarded for the best leeks under 100cm, went to Geoff Dodd.
Now in its third decade, the competition monitors the progress of contestants with the most improved leeks award. This year, Yvonne Reynolds walked away with the title. The Wooden Leek Trophy was awarded to Charlie Beattie.
The Bowes Hotel won best scarecrow in the Bardon Mill and Henshaw Scarecrow Trail.
