THIS year's annual meeting of Hexham Town Council took place in a different format than usual.
Monday's meeting was held on video conference platform Zoom.
During the meeting, the current chairman of the council, and Hexham mayor, Robert Hull and his deputy, Stephen Ball, were re-elected to serve for a further 12 months.
And in his annual report, Mr Hull concluded that the council could be proud of its achievements over the past year - including Hexham being named the happiest place to live in the UK; the town council being crowned local council of the year; £100m in new investments; and progress with the Hexham Neighbourhood Plan.
The Town Council has already begun to consider what kind of recovery plan will be needed following the coronavirus crisis. Mr Hull said: "The Town Council will continue to work to ensure we have a adaptable, strong and vibrant town with strong expectations for the future.”
