AN open air drive-in cinema is coming to Hexham Racecourse this month.
The drive-in will be open to the public on August 19 and 20, providing a new experience of film watching from the comfort of your own car.
BREAK Films and Scanner-Rhodes Productions are proud to announce the film line-up, which includes brand new, British independent thriller Break, fresh from the first ever drive-in premiere in London’s Brent Cross, as well as favourites, such as Grease, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Break producer and actress, Terri Dwyer, said: “Being an independent film, we were hugely affected by Covid-19. We didn’t know when or where we could release our film.
"After 10 years of hard work, we wanted to give the film a release it deserved. We felt an open air drive-in at Hexham Racecourse would be the perfect place to host our event.
"We would like to thank Northumberland Council for their support in arranging the drive-in in Hexham. We have put together a variety of family programming to give Hexham a great drive-in experience."
The event will adhere to social distancing guidelines; toilet facilities and refreshments will be available and the sound will be broadcast via a FM transmitted and tuned in via the car radio.
Tickets can be bought at www.breakfilms.co.uk/
