A TEENAGER'S winning goal for Tynedale Ladies earned her a place among some esteemed hockey players.
Sixteen-year-old Lizzie Scott was named in England Hockey's team of the week after her match winning performance for Tynedale against Newcastle Medics recently.
With the game finely balanced at 1-1, Lizzie picked up the ball with three Newcastle players breathing down her neck and she calmly fooled the goalkeeper before slotting the ball into the far corner with coolness, speed and precision to secure the points for her team.
But the winning goal was just one highlight of her performance, as her hard work to cover every bit of the pitch, helping out in defence and pouring forward in attack, seeing her stand out.
Her talent earned her a team in the select XI with the other players representing all areas of the country.
