Shoppers in a Tynedale town were stunned to discover a duck wearing a bow-tie sitting in the front seat of a car on Wednesday morning.
Crowds gathered around the strange sight on Prudhoe Front Street, as questions surrounded who was the owner of the car and the duck.
Prudhoe resident Gemma Hirst spotted the strange sight and sent the Courant the amusing video.
She said: "I saw two nurses looking into the car, taking pictures and laughing. When I went over I saw this duck stuck in the car wearing a bow-tie.
"It had set the car alarm off because it was moving around so much."
But later on Wednesday, after viewing the story on the Courant website, reader Jayne Tulip said she knew the duck's origin.
She said: "He's called Star and lives in Stocksfield with his owners!
"He loves beer and ties or bow-ties! If you look up his Facebook page, Star Hayman, you'll see him."
