Reading Solutions UK - home of the award-winning, online literacy programme Reading Plus - invites you to join their first ever Great North Reading Conference 2021.
Aimed at senior leaders, English literacy leads and children in primary education, the free, online conference will be held over three days and boasts a series of content packed webinars led by award-winning authors and experts in literacy and education.
Michael Walker, director at Reading Solutions UK, told us: “The Great North Reading Conference is an opportunity to bring together educators in a positive way that isn’t about catch-up, remote learning or Covid, it’s simply to celebrate and showcase what schools in the North-East are doing around reading and promoting reading for pleasure.
“Reading underpins every element of education. If a child doesn’t or chooses not to read, their development potential both in school and in life are severely limited.
“We’re offering this as a free conference as we want everyone to have an equal opportunity to participate in high quality CPD, delivered by practitioners for practitioners.”
EEF literacy content specialist Caroline Bilton, author Helen Dennis, author Anne Fine OBE, and FRSL, and John Beatie, of Seven Stories, are amongst some of the webinar speakers and the event will be hosted by headteachers Barbara Middleton MBE, of Shiremoor Primary School, and Jill Shaw MBE, from New York Primary School.
