A RUGBY event in the name of a popular North Tyne farmer has been planned for a a later date.
The Stay Strong Stu Sevens event at Tynedale Rugby Club has been pencilled in for July 31, with the competition open to all who may be interested.
The annual event, started in memory of Wark farmer Stu Ridley, who played rugby at Tynedale for many years, is usually played on the same day of the Tynedale Beer and Cider Festival, but that has been pushed back from June until September to allow lockdown restrictions be lifted, if the Government's roadmap is met.
But the 2021-22 season should have started by then meaning the event would have to be held in the off season instead.
