The cast of ITV’s popular drama, Vera, were spotted in a Tynedale village on Monday (April 5).
Brenda Blethyn, who plays Detective Chief Inspector Vera Stanhope, filmed scenes in Corbridge for the 11th series of the show.
Fan Claire Frazer, who lives in the village, spotted them filming at GB Motors on Princes Street.
“I can’t tell you how excited I was when we received a letter to say that filming was taking place on Easter Monday and that access to my house wouldn’t be affected,” she said.
“I initially thought is was a wind up by my family as I’m a massive Vera fan and April fools day was the next day.
“I was up on Monday early for filming starting at 8am. I was trying to walk past and take sly photos when the production crew saw what I was doing.
“They were so lovely and said that it was fine for me to stand stationary and take photos.
“Vera walked from set to her vehicles that were parked behind The Angel and Corstopitum Social Club car park.
“She was very friendly. It was an absolute pleasure to witness the filming.”
The series, which are based on books by Ann Cleeves, are filmed in locations around the North East.
Actors have been filming the 11th series of the drama during lockdown, which will return to screens with six feature-length episodes.
The first two episodes of the series will be broadcast in 2021.
The remaining four episodes will be broadcast in 2022.
