ITV’s popular drama Vera will be filming in the area again this week.
The cast of the detective series was spotted filming in Corbridge earlier this month - on Easter Monday. They filmed scenes at GB Motors on Princes Street.
And now, the cast will be filming in Stamfordham and Matfen on Friday (April 30).
Residents living in the Stamfordham area received a letter to inform them of the plans to film the TV drama at The Bay Horse Inn. The production team has several scenes to film, both inside and outside the inn.
Filming hours will be between about 8am and 5pm.
The letter states they are planning to park the several technical support vehicles on the side street joining North Side Street and South Side Street, as well as in the car park outside of the inn.
Meanwhile, filming in Matfen will be mainly inside and outside of the Village Shop.
Production vehicles will be parked in the Black Bull car park with a couple of larger vehicles on the road outside the pub.
The crew will be using the Village Hall as a rest area during filming.
The cast will then return to Maften on May 4 to film driving and search and rescue scenes on the Village Green.
The drama features Brenda Blethyn who plays Detective Chief Inspector Vera Stanhope.
The series, which is based on books by Ann Cleeves, is filmed in locations across the North-East.
The upcoming season is scheduled to be broadcast later this year.
