A POPULAR Greek restaurant which was devastated by a fire last summer has reopened its doors.
A kitchen fire at Stalida Greek Taverna, on Hexham’s Battle Hill, in July caused substantial damage, and the restaurant has remained closed ever since.
However, customers are being welcomed back as the refitted restaurant was back in ship shape condition following major renovation work.
Owner Selena Truta, who runs the business alongside partner Billy, said: “It’s fantastic! I can’t believe we’re actually open after a year.”
