Filming for the fifth Indiana Jones film has started to take place in Northumberland and will continue throughout this week.
The so far unnamed fifth film in the franchise, which sees Harrison Ford again return to his lead character role at 78-years-old, has begun filiming scenes for the movie at Bamburgh Castle in Northumberland.
On the Castle’s website, a statement confirmed the location is set to remain closed until June 14 while filming takes place.
“Bamburgh Castle is closed due to filming. We re-open on June 14 and apologise for any inconvenience,” said the Castle’s website.
The fifth Indiana Jones movie is set to be the first film released in the franchise since 2008’s Kingdom of the Crystal Skull film and is set to also star Fleabag creator Phoebe Mary Waller-Bridge and Mads Mikkelsen.
It has been given a release date of July 28, 2022 by franchise owners Disney.
