A car meet in the region proved to be a popular attraction for residents across the region last weekend.
The second cars and coffee event hosted by Caffe Ginevra saw car enthusiasts descend on Prudhoe’s retail park on Sunday afternoon to view some stunning vehicles including Ferraris, McLarens and Lamborghinis.
Following the success of the inaugural event last month, the second meeting was even bigger and better, much to the delight of Caffe Ginevra’s Anthony Finn who gave a reason as to why he believed the event was even more popular.
“It’s been bigger than the first one,” said Anthony.
“With the first one what we did was had it at 9am so it didn’t interfere with the shops too much thinking it would probably end at about 11 so we’d only have an hour with the crossover but it kind of did.
“A lot of people couldn’t get to do their shopping, so this time we just wanted to make sure we worked with the community to make it an event that everyone enjoyed so there wasn’t any reason for any negative comments.”
“So we changed it to 4pm when the other shops are shut, so it just meant there was more room for people to get around.”
“(By moving the time) it should have made the event a bit safer and obviously the whole car park has been used. It’s great and really good!”
With two successful meets having now already taken place, Anthony went on to explain what the future plans are for the monthly event.
“We’ll see what the feedback is on it from the community,” he explained.
“People have been congratulating us and saying what a great day its been.
“It’s only a couple of hours but we’re attracting people from all over.
There’s a couple I was speaking to have come from Middlesbrough and they only heard about it today (Sunday).
“We’ll take onboard comments and look to make sure the next one is even better and look to build on it each time.”
The events are set to take place once a month at the Prudhoe retail park.
