An industry watchdog has revealed a water company in the region is the country's most reliable.
The 2020 Water Matters Report – managed by the Consumer Council for Water – has shown Northumbrian Water topped the charts for being both trusted the most by customers as well as providing the most reliable service over the last 10 years.
“We are very proud to have been found the best performing water company when it comes to overall satisfaction of water service and reliability of services," said Claire Sharp, Customer Director at Northumbrian Water Group.
“We are also pleased to have also scored highly in relation to trust and satisfaction in handling queries.
“We want every customer to have a great experience with us, and we are fully committed to ensuring that all of those using our services are treated equally and with respect.
“Our customers are absolutely at the heart of everything we do and we’re always looking for innovative ways that we can work in order to improve service so it’s unrivalled and the very best.
In 2011, customers across the country were asked on a scale of 1-10 how much trust they have in their water company and the figure has increased from 7.33 ten years ago to 7.876 in the most recent survey.
Northumbrian Water also saw their figure higher than the national average, with their score being 7.89.
