A group from a pub in the region have completed a cycling and walking challenge in fine style.
Locals of The Jubilee pub in Haltwhistle last weekend both cycled and walked between Brunton Park in Carlisle and St James' Park in Newcastle in just over half of their allocated time.
The group, which saw 16 people take part, were raising funds for both prostate cancer research as well as the development of junior football in the town.
"They had 24 hours to complete a route from Brunton Park to St James' Park which they completed in 12.5 hours," said Mark Dixon, who was one of the group to take part.
"The prostate charity is close to our hearts as we sadly lost our chairman Malcolm Hind to it.
"Our senior team are eager to get junior football back in the town to get home grown talent in the team.
"We cycled to Birdoswald from Brunton Park where the walkers were eagerly waiting and they then set off from there to Cawfields Quarry.
"The next morning they set off from Cawfields to Cholleford where the cyclists were then waiting to then finish off the challenge by going to St James' Park.
"I want to give out a big shout out to Alan Batey and Stephen Oxley who did both the cycling and walking and also a big thanks to Helen Fenwick for organising it all, to Shirley Hind for her hospitality and to Ashley Hind for making the buffet. A special thanks to everyone that took part, it was a great achievement by all."
