A number of sporting stars headed to the region as part of Steve Cram's Celebrity Golf Day last week.
The event, which took at Slaley Hall, featured famous faces such as cricketing hero Ben Stokes and athletics legend Kriss Akabusi and they helped raise approximately £21,000 for the Comrades of Children Overseas charity.
The charity, founded by Cram and British Army Major Jim Panton back in 2000, works with communities in remote areas around the world to help offer children access to education.
“We were so pleased to be able to host the Steve Cram Celebrity Golf Day again and absolutely delighted with the response from businesses and sports stars," said Lucy Philipson, the CEO of COCO.
"After such a difficult time for everyone, it was hugely encouraging to have 25 teams out there raising money for COCO."
