More than 20,000 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Northumberland during the course of the pandemic.
The latest daily figures released by the government show a total of 20,047 positive cases have now been confirmed in the county since last March.
That figure is 167 higher than yesterdays statistics showed, with several of our wards also continuing to feature on Northumberland’s worse affected list.
The wards that feature are:
Ponteland West – 31 cases
Ponteland North – 31 cases
Ponteland East and Stannington – 29 cases
Ponteland South with Heddon – 28 cases
Prudhoe North – 21 cases
Hexham Central with Acomb – 16 cases
Bywell – 13 cases
Hexham West – 12 cases
Corbridge – 12 cases
South Tynedale – 10 cases
Stocksfield and Broomhaugh – 9 cases
Bellingham – 5 cases
Nobody has died in the latest 24-hour period in Northumbria Healthcare hospitals according to the latest stats released by NHS England, meaning the death toll since the pandemic began remains at 731.
