A resident in a Tynedale town is raising money for a charity which saved her life.
Lyn Murray was in a serious collision on the Military Road and says she owes her life to the paramedics who saved her.
Lyn, who lives in Haltwhistle, regularly sells a number of plants from her allotment in her garden, with all the money raised going towards the Great North Air Ambulance.
"It was in the pandemic," explained Lyn.
"Another lady and I decided we would have a polytunnel in our allotments.
"A neighbour put them up for us and then I though what on earth am I going to do with it!"
"That's when I came up with the idea of raising money from the air ambulance by selling plants.
"Up to now I have sent them £500 and I've got £40 towards my next £100."
Lyn, who advertises the plants on Facebook decided to choose the GNAA for a very important reason.
"I picked the Great North Air Ambulance because they saved my life eight years ago.
"I had a bad car crash up on the Millitary road (B6318).
"Because I've been raising money for them, I've been chatting to a lady on the phone every time I have been sending them some money and I think she's put the word out and then quite by surprise I got this e-mail from the GNAA inviting me to Langwathby to meet the paramedic who saved me.
"I'm looking forward to it.
"I can't see that they're going to remember me, but it will be nice to say thank you won't it!"
Lyn is set to meet the Great North Air Ambulance team on Monday (July 12).
