The High Sheriff of Northumberland is to host a summer garden party this weekend.
Joanna Riddell, who was appointed to the role of High Sheriff earlier this year, will host the party at the Cheeseburn Sculpture in Stamfordham with the aim to raise money for local charities and voluntary organisations.
This year’s garden party will feature a host of Northumberland musicians including The Cassino Band of Northumbria Army Cadet Force, Alex Renton and the Bains, Crown of Feathers, and The Sunshine Panners.
The Northumbrian Pipers will also be playing and there will be a craft market to showcase makers from across the county. Furthermore, there will be a display of Northumbria police horses and guns and artillery from the 3rd Regiment Royal Horse Artillery.
All money raised will go to the High Sheriff of Northumberland’s charities which are working in Northumberland to nurture children and young adults, with a particular focus on supporting mental health and well being with creative pursuits and opportunities following the pandemic.
Mrs Riddell said: “The summer garden party is a chance for the people of Northumberland to enjoy music, art and crafts from across our beautiful county wile exploring one of the most unique venues in the North East at Cheeseburn.
“I’m really looking forward to meeting lots of families over the weekend and raising some much-needed funds to support the outstanding voluntary organisations of Northumberland that do such great work to help our children and young people.”
The High Sheriff’s Summer Garden Party will take place on Saturday, July 10, and Sunday, July 11, from 10am to 4pm.
