A junior golfer has been looking back on his counties success at a recent tournament.
Morgan Blythe - who plays at Hexham Golf Club - was one of the star performers for Northumberland as they took the victory in the Northern Counties Boys Championship for only the second time in the counties history.
The team's performance - which also saw fellow Hexham member Junior Dobson perform strongly - saw the side defeat counties including Yorkshire and Lancashire to take the victory.
"We all did well," said Morgan.
"We went down to Ilkley in Yorkshire and the team won in the first time in 20 or 30 years.
"It's pretty nice (to have won)."
"The team's victory was the first by the county since 1993 in the competition and the side will now face off against other regional winners including Leicestershire and Essex in the County Championship next month.
"Everyone is really happy because its been three years I think that everyone has been trying to do it and working towards it as Northumberland as a whole," added Morgan.
"Everyone was looking forward to it quite calmly and generally it just felt like another time and nobody was making that big of a deal of it even though it kind of was!
"Everyone did their bit and everyone had a score in and everyone just kept their high numbers off which ended up pulling us through.
"For junior county (level), its one of the biggest things you can win.
"Later on we go to represent Northern Counties at a national final later in the year at the end of August.
"It's the first time Northumberland have done it in a long long time.
"It's quite special really."
"Everyone's just grateful to be back playing and doing the thing they want to do. It's not been a nice year for anybody but everyone's happy to be back playing.
"We all want to do well in the finals and prove that we can't just do it one time. I think everybody personally just wants to keep getting better and keep improving."
