Many of our teams have found out who will be their first few opponents in the Northern Football Alliance after the opening fixtures of the new season were revealed
Following a somewhat short summer break, the new season is set to get underway on Saturday, August 14, with a number of teams all set to start life in new divisions.
In the Premier Division - which for the 2021/22 season will feature a total of four sides from our area - former champions Ponteland will begin their campaign at home to Percy Main Amateurs, while fellow regulars Wallington will play host to Killingworth.
Ponteland will then travel to Cullercoats four days later, with matches against Gateshead Rutherford, Seaton Delaval, Alnwick Town and Wallington all set to take place before the start of September.
The two promoted sides from our area – Haltwhistle Jubilee and the recently confirmed Prudhoe Youth Club – also start their seasons off at home.
The Jubes, who have made it three successive promotions following their move into the Premier Division this season, will begin their campaign against Burradon and New Fordley at The Burn, with games against Winlaton Community, Gateshead Rutherford, Killingworth and Newcastle Blue Star all set to take place.
Rivals Prudhoe meanwhile will welcome Winlaton Community to Kimberley Park on the opening day, with games against Burradon and New Fordley, Killingworth, Wallington, Newcastle Chemfica and Whitley Bay Reserves having been confirmed.
In Division One, Hexham begin their season away at Wallsend Boys Club, with tests against FC United of Newcastle, Newcastle Independent FC, Gosforth Bohemians, Felling Magpies and West Moor & Jesmond AFC also set to take place.
Another of our sides again this season features in Division Two – Ponteland United Reserves – and they are set to start their season away at Wideopen FC.
They then will play Newcastle Blue Star Reserves, Cullercoats Reserves, Heaton Stannington A FC, Cramlington Town and AFC Newbiggin in the opening weeks of the new season.
