Today, September 26, 350 people are to take part in the RAF Spadeadam Half Marathon.
The Cumbrian marathon is to raise funds for the RAF Benevolent Fund and will take place over an undulating course around the base, on a multitude of surfaces.
Aaron Tillyer, Community Fundraiser at the RAF Benevolent Fund, said: “I’m delighted that so many runners are taking part in this year’s RAF Spadeadam Half Marathon and raising money for the Fund. With the pandemic and various lockdown restrictions delaying or cancelling countless fundraising events, this will be a fantastic opportunity for members of the public to take part in an event on usually closed roads, in a stunning landscape while raising funds to help support the RAF Family for years to come.”
The RAF Benevolent Fund provides financial, practical and emotional support to the whole of the RAF Family, by both serving personnel and veterans, as well as their partners and dependants.
