We asked Hexham Courant readers on social media where they think the best dog-friendly places in Northumberland are.

Where would you recommend?

Errington Coffee House

This was a common response from our readers, it is a cafe in Corbridge. Nicola Jameson said: "Totally recommend, dog friendly, delicious food and the cakes." Carolyne Melville also agreed that Errington Coffee House is a perfect place to take your pooch.

Fountain Cottage Cafe

This was recommended by Louise Canney and Sonia Barrass, based in Bellingham Louise said "Welcome dogs inside the cafe and outside seating. They will even provided your pooch a bowl of water." Sonia added that this is a perfect pace to take your dog and you don't have to worry about looking to far close to all the local walks.

Bellingham News and Post Office

This is another recommendation by Louise Canney, she suggested this as a perfect place to go and buy your dog a tub of ice cream after a slice of cake at the cafe.

Miners Lamp Community Cafe

The cafe is based in Eastwoods Park, Prudhoe and was recommended by Russ Greig, he said: "Park also has an enclosed secure dog exercise area, the only dedicated dog exercise area in a public park."

Bunters Coffe Shop

The cafe is based in the centre of Hexham and was recommended by Heather Crawford, she said: "Dog friendly and a lovely couple that own it."
